In 2020, in support of Black Lives Matter, the Neil Kelly building commissioned me to create a large-scale mural honoring the racial history of Portland’s Alberta District. Once a thriving hub for Portland’s Black community, the neighborhood was later shaped by redlining, displacement, and decades of disinvestment — but has since grown into a vibrant center for art, culture, and community pride.
